Making personalised learning accessible to every student

Bloom AI is an Australian EdTech company building AI for learning, rather than answers. We work with education institutions to deploy research-backed AI tutors.

Why we built Bloom

In 1984, educational psychologist Benjamin Bloom showed that students who received one-on-one tutoring performed two standard deviations better than those in conventional classrooms, placing the average tutored student above 98% of their peers.

He called it the Two Sigma Problem: how do we give every student the benefits of personal tutoring?

We founded Bloom AI in 2023 to answer that question. But not with generic chatbots. Research from the University of Pennsylvania shows that giving students access to a standard ChatGPT-like interface can actually harm learning by 17% on unassisted exams.

Instead, we build AI tutors that are grounded in course materials, guided by Socratic pedagogy, and designed with educator oversight. Institutions can deliver personalised learning at scale without compromising academic integrity.

“The tutoring process demonstrates that most of the students do have the potential to reach this high level of learning.”

What we stand for

Every product decision we make is grounded in these principles.

Learning over answers

We guide students through understanding using Socratic pedagogy, not shortcuts. Generic AI can harm learning. Purpose-built AI improves it.

Research-backed

Every feature is grounded in learning science, cognitive psychology, and randomised controlled trials. We publish our research and collaborate with universities.

Trust and safety first

FERPA, GDPR, HECVAT, and Australian Privacy Principles compliant. Penetration tested by CyberCX. Institutional data is never used for model training.

Educator-centred

Educators maintain full control and visibility. Bloom augments teaching. It does not replace it. 94% reduction in admin emails for partner institutions.

Accessible at scale

From a single classroom to an entire campus. Multi-language support, LMS integration, and pricing designed for educational institutions.

Our team

We combine deep expertise in AI, education, and learning science.
