Bloom AI + Blackboard Learn

Bloom connects to Blackboard Learn through LTI 1.3, replacing the need for legacy Building Block integrations. The Bloom team registers the tool in your Blackboard instance, and instructors enable it in individual courses. The integration works with both Blackboard Ultra and Original course views, so institutions migrating between the two do not need to reconfigure.

How it works

1

Contact the Bloom team

Tell us whether you are running Blackboard Ultra, Original, or both, and which courses will use Bloom. We will coordinate the LTI 1.3 registration with your Blackboard administrator.

2

We register Bloom as an LTI 1.3 tool

Our team works with your Blackboard administrator to register Bloom as an LTI 1.3 tool provider, configuring the application ID, deployment ID, and JWKS URL.

3

Instructors add Bloom to courses

Instructors add Bloom as a course tool link or embed it within content areas. In Ultra view, Bloom appears as a learning module item. In Original view, it appears as a tool link.

Key capabilities

LTI 1.3 (no Building Blocks required)

Bloom uses the LTI 1.3 standard instead of the deprecated Building Block framework. No Java server-side code or Blackboard server restarts are needed.

Ultra and Original course view support

The integration works in both Blackboard Ultra and Original course views. Institutions that are mid-migration between views do not need separate configurations.

Managed setup

Our team handles the LTI 1.3 registration and configuration. Your Blackboard admin provides system access, and we take care of the rest.

Deploy Bloom with Blackboard Learn

Our team can walk you through the setup process and help configure Bloom for your institution.
